State delegates and alternates attending the Republican Party of Texas State Convention this year should vote for Steve Munisteri for RPT Chairman. Mr. Munisteri is the founder of the Young Conservatives of Texas and is the most conservative candidate running. He will guide the state's Republican Party back in the right direction.

The Texas Tech chapter of the Young Conservatives of Texas is holding a petition against the erection of a statue on the campus of Texas Tech University depicting books about Hitler, Mao Tse Tung, and outrageous images that are being passed off as “art.” The statue fails to represent the values of this country and the principles and ideals of Texas Tech University.

On November 19, Dallas City Council members will meet and vote on proposed new restrictions on the city's smoking ordinance. This is the second time in half a decade that anti-smoking proposals have been brought before the council to be voted on. The fundamental problem with smoking bans is their infringement on the free market, and the rights of both business owners and consumers. Not to mention the negative effect further restrictions will have on the local economy.

Colleges students have been eager to complain about the rising cost of tuition, but students at the University of North Texas last week voted to hike their per-hour fees to pay for a new football field. Of course, they actually voted for a fee that won’t go into effect until at least the fall of 2011 – when most of them will be long gone.

One would assume that a mayor of a city would have a lot of responsibilities that he would have to address on a daily basis, especially if you are the mayor of as large of city as (let's say) Forth Worth. One would think that there are important issues a mayor would take priority in addressing, but would you ever imagine that one of those issues would be the fashion trend of baggy pants among our youth?
